L ‘ITAS “Bocchialini” Parma has chosen to work on the topic “Agricultural Biodiversity” as inherent in our courses of study and because our school is a garrison of biodiversity due to the Company Stuard agreement with us.
The route started during this school year 2013-2014 in the class 2C according to the following steps:
1) Watch the movie “The Age of Stupid”
2) Questionnaire on the movie
3) Depth of the subject with a few lessons in the classroom, with other films, through participation in a conference on agricultural biodiversity, with some educational tours to the Company Stuard and the Natural Reserve of Parma Morta (presentation in Annex 3)
4) Work in groups through internet searches and the preparation of some Power point on various topics related to agricultural biodiversity: Agrobiodiversity, typical products, niche products, farmers guardian, protection bodies, the effects of climate change.
5) Presentation of the work the rest of the class
In the next school year, 2014-2015, we plan to continue the project in the following way:
6) Sharing the work done by other students and maybe in the future with the community
7) Make the findings of the phenological phases of apple trees in the catalog of the farm Stuard in the first phase of production (flowering) and later in the fruiting stage.
8) Using these observations and with the help of experts, perform an initial evaluation of agronomic and then a first selection of varieties, taking into account parameters such as resistance to pathogens and the shelf life of the fruit. You do not evaluate the parameter of productivity because it consists of fruit intended for a niche market.
9) A further selection of varieties through the test of taste (Annex 5)
10) Choose from a variety of apple to promote it.
L’ ITAS “Bocchialini” di Parma ha scelto di lavorare sull’argomento “Biodiversità agraria” poiché inerente ai nostri corsi di studio e in quanto la nostra scuola è un presidio della biodiversità grazie alla Azienda Stuard con noi convenzionata.
Il percorso è partito durante questo anno scolastico 2013-2014 nella classe 2C secondo le seguenti tappe :
1) Visione del filmato “The age of stupid”
2) Questionario relativo al filmato
3) Approfondimento dell’argomento con alcune lezioni in classe, con altri filmati, mediante la partecipazione ad un convegno sulla biodiversità agraria, con alcune uscite didattiche alla Azienda Stuard e alla Riserva Naturale della Parma Morta (presentazione in allegato 3)
4) Lavoro a gruppi tramite ricerche su internet e preparazione di alcuni Power point su vari argomenti inerenti alla biodiversità agraria : agrobiodiversità, prodotti tipici, prodotti di nicchia, agricoltori custodi, enti di tutela, effetti dei cambiamenti climatici.
5) Presentazione dei lavori al resto della classe
Nel prossimo anno scolastico, 2014-2015, ci proponiamo di proseguire il progetto nel seguente modo :
6) Condividere l’attività svolta con altri studenti e magari in futuro con la comunità
7) Effettuare dei rilievi delle fasi fenologiche dei meli presenti nel catalogo del Podere Stuard nella prima fase di produzione (fioritura) e successivamente nella fase di fruttificazione.
8) Mediante questi rilievi e con l’aiuto di esperti, eseguire una prima valutazione agronomica e quindi una prima selezione delle varietà, tenendo in considerazione parametri come la resistenza ai patogeni e la conservabilità dei frutti. Non si valuterà il parametro di produttività in quanto si tratta di frutti destinati ad un mercato di nicchia.
9) Ulteriore selezione delle varietà tramite il test de gustativo (allegato 5)
10) Scelta di una varietà di mela da promuovere e valorizzare.
